Transgender
In the year Jim along with Sasha Allen made it onto The Voice Live Shows, they made history because Sasha was the first openly transgender contestant on the NBC show that made it through The Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons. This time, the pair of Newtown, Conn., have taken the show one step closer to making it to the top 8! Sasha admitted that he is transgender when they were preparing their entry for the Blind Auditions, and he told Parade.com that the decision needed thought and consideration. "That was a really hard choice to make as you're showing a vulnerable part of yourself to millions and billions of people," said Sasha, who transitioned while he was at high school. The fans' support and the impact that this has had on people, even though the decision was difficult to take it was what ultimately has convinced Sasha to make the change worth it. "We played it before The Voice was even a reality show in our lives. It was an amazing surprise. We had heard of the song and had some thoughts on how to structure it. "I am pleasantly amazed at the way that fans executed it."
