Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious eateries, been studying Italian cuisine and its traditions and has was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic location to learn. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. In her time in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy behind Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact from a culinary point of view. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world as she frequently travels throughout the US in the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne always felt fortunate that she was able to share her passion of her life, cooking with others.
