Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs Avery Sunshine has been a hit everywhere. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church where she sang and performed piano. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The first track to showcase her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it was remixed and has become a part of her repertoire. Her voice also appeared on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine came to national notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
