While this character brought the actress great attention, she still felt the stereotype of Mary Camden being a nice woman was limiting her options as an actor. The actress was on Gear magazine's cover picture partly dressed in order to alter this appearance. Jessica's act caused a lot of controversy for her followers. In Season 6 on 7th Heaven, Jessica left. In the movie Ulee's Gold, she gained immediate recognition for her outstanding acting. She was even named the best supporting young actress award for the movie. Summer Catch, a comedy film she played in, is proof of her talents as a performer. Her movie Rules of Attraction did not achieve much success despite her impressive performance. Later her acting in the horror movie The Texas Chainshaw Massacre caught everyone's attention. She has also acted in suspense films and demonstrated her skills as an actor.
